- Abstract
Mathematics and architecture have always been close, not only because architecture depends on the development of mathematics and its discoveries, but also because of their common aspirations towards order and beauty, the form of some countryside buildings, or the form of construction. Mathematics is essential for understanding the structural concept of buildings. It is also crucial in visual editing of elements, but can sometimes act as a 'tool' to achieve harmony in nature and the universe. We can see the golden ratio every day without being aware of it. It can be found in the growth of plants from a sprout to the flower, also in the different shapes of animal bodies and human built. The usage of the golden ratio extends all through the antique period, the Renaissance, modernism and up to the present day. It is commonly used in architecture, construction engineering, sculpture, art, painting, music, photography and design. The golden ratio or the divine proportion is the most perfect ratio in nature, simply perfect to the human eye. It is a harmony between extreme precision and chaotic imperfection.
