- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines developed additives to extend the open time of low/zero-volatile organic compounds (VOC) binders and latex paints. It states that substrates including drywall, and glass panels were used to determine wet-edge and open time on different surface, and use the commercial latex binder Acronal Optive 130 from BASF SE. Results show that short open time, in the range of zero to four minutes, was the common problem of the commercial low/zero-VOC paints.
