- Abstract
This article discusses the importance of indigenizing management research and practice in the Philippines. The author emphasizes the core value of person-centered management, or "makataong pamamahala," which is rooted in Philippine culture. The article explores the cultural diversity of the Philippines and the impact of colonization on its business management approaches. It also highlights the need to rediscover indigenous roots for Philippine management research and practice in order to promote inclusive growth and address income inequality. The author suggests incorporating Filipino cultural values into business and management education and conducting more research that utilizes Filipino management concepts.
