- Authors
Cannon, Jonathan W.; Acree, Christine
- Abstract
The article discusses the U.S. Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection's publication of a loan originator compensation (LOC) rule in 2013, focusing on the reported imposition of limits on LOC by prohibiting payments to a mortgage broker or loan officer that were based on a loan's terms and conditions. The U.S. Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System's issuance of a rule which allegedly protects consumers from unfair, abusive, and deceptive lending practices is examined.
