- Abstract
The article discusses various problems that are being faced by today's world. The problems include population changes, technological development, and availability of adequate food, energy, and raw materials. It mentions the relationship of these challenges with environment, and the interrelationship of all these challenges with each other. It informs about various conferences that will be taking place under the auspices of the United Nations, to deal with complex issues that effect human environment and quality of life. It stresses on the need for integrated environmental management on which life depends. It states that increase in population will result in rise in the demand of food and energy, which will in turn lead to crisis and exhaustion of resources.
