- Authors
Guidicini, Giovanna
- Abstract
The article focuses on the triumphal path of learning at George Heriot's Hospital in Edinburgh, Scotland. It says that the hospital was named after George Heriot who was a jeweller to King James VI and Queen Anne of Denmark. It examines the outdoor organization of the hospital's grounds from the Renaissance tradition of triumphal entries. Connections with similarly-structured educational buildings such as Caius College in Cambridge, England are discussed.
