- Abstract
The study aimed at determining the views of the physics teacher candidates on Physics 12 course book studied within the scope of the 2007 High School Physics Program and putting forward suggestions. 28 teacher candidates who are enrolled in the final year of the university at 2012-2013 school year constituted the sampling of the study in which scanning model based on qualitative research technique was used by performing document analysis. Data collection tool of the research was teacher candidate files prepared with five-dimensional internal benchmarks and the external benchmarks reflecting the physical features of the book including the subject content intended for the course book with open ended questions, the way that the lessons are taught, language and expression, preparation studies, assessment and evaluation. It was concluded that Physics 12 course book was prepared in conformity with the physics education program, there are significant insufficiencies in relation to the subject content and the way that the lessons are taught, language and expression, assessment and evaluation and physical structure dimensions; the 76 score given by the groups to the book fell short of necessary limits in terms of publication. It was also concluded that it is necessary to improve the book by asking the opinion of the physics teachers and by making use of the research data as regards to the success of physics teaching program and efficiency of the lessons and relevant opinion and recommendations were put forward.
