- Title
MARTIN FISHGOLD REPLIES.
- Abstract
The article presents the author's clarification on some of the accusations being thrown to him in response to the article on labor union and media. He cleared that it was New York City Central Labor Council executive director Ed Ott who said about unions and union media, and it was research director and radio program host of Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR) who said that the nature of the labor press is a huge missed opportunity. The editor further states the importance of corporate agenda in strengthening democracy and creating an informed membership, which is reflected in the labor media. Furthermore, he believes that organizing workers into smaller, more militant and more democratic groups outside of the established union structure, union and media democracy can be achieved.
