- Authors
Moore, James R.
- Abstract
The article offers the author's insights on the significance of global education in the participation of students in the dynamic global economy. He notes that globalization, the technological advances in communications and economic interdependence among countries, demands social studies teachers to integrate a global perspective in their courses. He cites that teachers could contribute to increasing the global awareness of students by making lessons that show the links between the economic health and security of the U.S. with the global economy. He says that inquiry projects are excellent teaching methods because they help students achieve a wide range of goals, stressing that sugar could be an example due to its essence in history and it is easy to connect to all of the social sciences.
