- Abstract
The article presents a study which described nonagenarians admitted to an acute medical admissions unit. The researchers performed a prospective study of consecutive admissions of patients more than 90 years to the medical admissions unit in February, May, and August 2005 and gathered information such as pre-admission socio-demographics and length of hospital stay. Results showed that 47 participants left the hospital with their pre-admission level of care support, 33 with additional support and 17 to rehabilitation.
