- Abstract
The article focuses on a study which re-analysed data on the use of the modification of diet in renal disease (MDRD) and Cockcroft and Gault equations in estimating glomerular filtration rate (GFR) in older people. The results of the study cited the lack of evidence of a relationship between bias and level of GFR. It stresses the importance of accurate estimation of GFR and detection and management of renal impairment in older people. It also notes the prevalence of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in older people.
