- Abstract
The authors discuss the role simulation for paediatric proceduralists and the associated safety concerns. They provide an overview on the traditional learning model used in medicine and the evolution of medical education and patient expectations. They tackle the four types of simulation which include standardised patients, part-task trainers, and computer patient. Also explored are the simulation in trauma and resusciation courses and the technological developments in surgery.
