- Abstract
The article discusses the teaching of the Common Core for English language arts standards for literacy, which are designed for second-grade students in the U.S. These standards are based on the acceptance of graphic novels as teaching resources and covered topics on the response of characters to major events and challenges, the differences in the points of view of characters and the use of information gained from the illustrations and words in a print or digital text.
