- Abstract
The article discusses the first observation of a leucistic humpback whale (Megaptera novaeangliae) in Algoa Bay in Eastern Cape, South Africa. Topics include the insight about the frequency of occurrence of not normal pigmentation patterns in cetaceans, the genetic cause of the atypical pigmentation pattern noted in the calf, and the pattern of population movement of coloured cetaceans.
