The article focuses on the meaning of a sound for late pre-Columbian peoples of the Mississippi Valley. It presents an examination of five small ceramic container rattles in anthro- or zoomorphic shapes which is originally affixed to the rims of pottery vessels from Lake George. Moreover, the questions about five adorno rattles are also examined.
