- Abstract
The objective of this article is to achieve a historic approximation of the the birth of car magazines in Spain. For this, the research goes back to the beginning of the 20th century when the first specialized publications in this topic arose. The appearance of a new means of locomotion and its rapid develpment as well as the increasing interest of the general public for cars favored the appearance of new types of publications and its consolidation in the market, fundamentally during the decades of the twenties and in the years before the Civil War. To carry out this research an intensive investigation was done in the newpaper library of publications regarding the sport, specifically in cars. Later analysis has allowed us to know specific and conrete details of each publication.
