The article offers information on the constitutionality valid limitations of a speech by judicial candidate given in campaign statement in New York under the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Topics discussed include significance of the announce clause under the 1972 American Bar Association (ABA) Model Code of Judicial Conduct, the judicial decision of the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct on pledge or promise clause, and views of Antonin Scalia for impartiality in speech.
