- Abstract
The article discusses research on the effect of propofol and alfaxalone on pain after ovariohysterectomy in cats. It says that propofol or alfaxalone inductions were administered to 35 healthy cats after undergoing elective ovariohysterectomy. It states that a visual analogue score (VAS) was used after behavioural observation of cats under pain. It concludes that any difference in analgesic requirement after propofol or alfaxalone anaesthesia appears unlikely to have clinical relevance.
