- Title
OlE calls for urgent research on new influenza virus.
- Abstract
The article reports on the call made by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) concerning the need for research to determine whether the H1N1 influenza virus can cause disease in animals. OIE suggests the need to know the susceptibility of animals to the virus to implement biosecurity measures, believing that virus circulation could worsen the global situation for public health. Meanwhile, the Health Protection Agency noted that the influenza virus was not transmitted by food.
