- Authors
Jacobs, Edward
- Abstract
The article looks at some miscellaneous notes and news regarding "Paradise Lost," an epic poem written in 10 books by 17th-century English poet John Milton. Topics discussed include the significance of Eve's use of the past participle "unassaid" in Book 9.335, the transposition of the lines 9.335-36 in the 1732 edition of the book for logic and clarity, and the use of a variant spelling of "assay" as a noun in the play "King Lear" by William Shakespeare.
