- Abstract
The article discusses a study conducted by Wei and colleagues from Jilin University in China, which evaluated the use of stented aortic allografts (AA) for tracheal replacement in a rat model. The study found that the majority of the animals did not experience any postoperative complications and observed the regeneration of epithelium and cartilage within the aortic matrices from recipient cells. The authors of the article congratulate the authors of the study for confirming their own results and discuss the challenges of tracheal replacement and the various research approaches that have been explored. They also highlight the importance of understanding the mechanisms of tissue regeneration and immune responses in this process.
