This paper examines the role of culture in suicide prevention for adolescents. The paper examines racial and ethnic differences in suicidal behaviors, examines the cultural context of suicidal behaviors in adolescents, and reviews the research on suicide preventions that are culturally relevant for racial/ethnic youth. Suggestions for ways to make suicide prevention programs more culturally salient are discussed.
