The article presents the author's views about the relationship between the temporomandibular joint diseases and the teeth's imperfect occlusion. The author says that the clinicians and scientists have not been able to separate the two into pure subgroups to test for the culprit. The author further says that the scientist and the clinician are controlling the masticatory system which controls its own destiny.
