- Abstract
Presents a study which defined whether hydrogen peroxide generated by monoamine oxidase A contributes to the hypertrophic effects of serotonin in cardiac myocytes. Manner in which serotonin stimulates cardiac myocyte hypertrophy; Pretreatment that prevented the effect of serotonin on both H-leucine incorporation and total protein content; Technique used to quantify hydrogen peroxide in intact cardiomyocytes.
