- Abstract
The article describes the case of a 54-year-old man who had a painful swollen calf and who was examined for possible deep vein thrombosis (DVT). His medical history included coeliac disease and ischemic heart disease. Biochemical and radiological examinations showed no evidence for malignancy-associated myositis. The final diagnosis was primary polymyositis. The disease has become extensive, as shown by very high creatine kinase and inflammatory response.
