- Abstract
The article presents the author's view on the critical management studies (CMS) manifesto devised by the CMS Workshop. The author questions an article by S. Clegg, R. Kornberger, C. Carter and C. Rhodes for attributing an anti-management orientation to CMS. According to the author, the reference to the oppressive character of the current management and business system is guided by narrow goals which include securing profits and managing the bottom line. He emphasizes the significance of focusing on other goals and interests of the society namely: justice, community, human development and ecological balance.
