- Abstract
This article explores the issue of handover in surgical settings and highlights the negative consequences of ineffective handover. The study conducted a comprehensive assessment of adherence to guidelines and identified barriers to compliance. The findings revealed low compliance in terms of setup, structure, and verbal content of handovers. The article provides specific recommendations to improve handover practices, including implementing protected handover time, standardizing time and location, and providing senior oversight. The authors stress the importance of rigorous assessment to ensure safe surgical care.
