- Abstract
We aim to reflect on the historiography of education in Brazil from the articles published in the triennium 2013-2015 in the Revista Brasileira de História da Educação (SBHE, 2001) and in the Revista HISTEDBR On Line (UNICAMP, 2000). The proposal to carry out a balance of this field of knowledge from two of the main specialized journals, aims to reflect on the recent production of the area by promoting a brief mapping of the field, having as methodological support the techniques of bibliometry that generated quantitative data allowing to perform statistical analyzes of the set of more than four hundred articles published by HISTEDBR On Line and nearby a hundred published by RBHE. The chosen magazines count on researchers of recognized scientific merit in their editorial bodies and of consultants, constituting themselves important vehicles of communication of the historical educational knowledge. These magazines were originated from initiatives of groups and societies quite active in the research in History of Education. The reflections pointed out tendencies, approximations and peculiarities when visualizing the field from distinct periodicals, the differences are remarkable, especially in the predominant thematic groups of each magazine. As for the work methodology, the starting point was the tabulation of published articles (reading titles, abstracts and keywords), demanding a commitment to manipulate the large volume of information, even if this exercise was facilitated by free access to the collections of these journals.
