REGULATION OF CHANNELS OF DISTRIBUTION.
- Authors
Reid, Brad
- Abstract
The article presents legal developments in marketing with particular focus on the regulation of channels of distribution. One of the developments describes the case of Jean Johnson v. Soundview Apartments Housing Development, which questions whether a mandatory meal plan in a government subsidized housing project violates antitrust law. Another development describes the case of Paolo Gucci v. Gucci Shops Inc., which clarified that the coordinated acts of a parent company and its wholly owned subsidiary cannot constitute a conspiracy. A third development describes the case of Fox Motors Inc. v. Mazda Distributors Inc. The court found that an automobile distributor's system of allocating a popular sports car according to dealers' sales of a less popular model is not unlawful tying.
