- Abstract
The article presents information on legal developments in marketing relative to the regulation of channels of distribution. In regard to operating features of marketing institutions, the article discusses Petroleum for Contractors, Inc. et al. v. Mobil Oil Corp. et al., and the antitrust issues it raises in terms of major oil companies and their distributors, such as exclusive dealing, conspiracy to restrain trade, tying, protection of competitors versus protection of competition, unfair competition, monopolization, and price discrimination. In regard to relations between buyers and sellers and exclusive dealing arrangements, the article discusses Northwest Power Products, Inc., v. Omark Industries, Inc. et al. and antitrust charges against a supplier and former company sales manager.
