- Authors
Werner, Ray O.; Cohen, Dorothy
- Abstract
The article presents U.S. legal developments in marketing relative to the regulation of unfair competition. The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) issued a complaint against Aamco Automatic Transmissions, Inc. alleging the company used deceptive advertising practices to obtain business in 1970. The same year the FTC issued a final consent order against the Campbell Soup Co. prohibiting it from using false advertisements to sell its products. In reference to nonadvertising promotional methods the P.F. Collier & Son Corp., P.F. Collier, Inc. and Crowell-Collier & MacMillan, Inc. v. Federal Trade Commission case is cited.
