CONSUMER PACKAGING OF FRUITS AND VEGETABLES IN CALIFORNIA.
- Authors
Mehren, G. L.
- Abstract
The article reports on changes in the marketing of perishable food goods in California; rather than being sold in large containers, there is a movement towards packaging in consumer sizes earlier in the distribution chain. Marketing techniques, prices, marketing channels and selling methods are expected to change. Growers, packagers, distributors, processors and consumers are expected to experience the results of these changes. The chief concerns before these changes can be implemented are pathological, physiological, technical and economic in nature.
