- Abstract
The article presents an empirical research study regarding the stance of the Catholic priesthood in the U.S. after the implementation of the Second Vatican Council in 1962. The author mentions the changes to the priestly and religious life during the onset of the Vatican II denoting the transitions in priests' sacramental and ministerial life. It cites the role of several American bishops in overseeing their priests' sacramental and religious activities in the church as well as in the community. It denotes the increasing number of seminarians and aspirants to join in seminaries due to priests and bishops' effective planning and recruitment for religious vocations in the country. The emergence of several Catholic ministries is also mentioned.
