He talks about his decision to become a historian of slavery, the influence of the history book "The Black Jacobins: Toussaint L'ouverture and the San Domingo Revolution" by C. L. R. James, and his favourite archive and the best museum which is the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C.
