- Abstract
The damage and disasters caused by earthquakes, is a recurring theme in the historiography of American cultural assets. This writing narrates the complex situation experienced by the priests of the Oratory of Saint Philip Neri the city of Santiago de los Caballeros, Guatemala after the earthquake of September 29, 1717. In addition to exposing the damage to its building, it will be prompted in the affectations in the area by the irruption of their religious and social activities.
