The article focuses on the infectious disease bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR) along with initiatives for its prevention. It mentions that IBR is a serious respiratory infection of cattle which is caused by bovine herpesvirus-1 (BoHV-1). It discusses key characteristics of the infection along with its clinical manifestation including conjunctivitis, encephalitis and reproductive failure. It further discusses efforts of the organization Animal Health Institute for prevention of the disease.
