Equipment Echoes 125 How World War I Surplus Vehicles Went to the States 1 Counties paid $150 up front per truck to cover overhaul, equipping and delivery, and the initial lease rate of $2 per truck per month was deemed adequate to cover the first year's costs. The trucks and other vehicles had the #ta::2'-"1~'r*-s 43:i#*& bidall,~E *,~---r:'*:34 desired impact on costs; one county report ~1~, 2~W4~~~46-u~,- ed that its two Nash 2-Ton trucks saved it 51,000 in the first year. Some of the state trucks could be used with their Army I.\... bodies, either as is or with modifications; but as with the t- # county trucks, most were equipped with new dump boxes A 1-1 with manual or hydraulic hoists.
