- Abstract
The article focuses on the community caretaker doctrine (CCD) of the U.S., which include the inventory search by police as community caretaking function without any warrant at the time of exigent circumstances. It discusses certain actions that elaborated on the CCD. It informs that the U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeal in different states have expanded the CCD to include the search of private residences. CCD acts as a limited exception to the Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
