- Abstract
The article discusses the use of the morpheme "maj" ("more") in Ukrainian language, focusing on speakers of Ukrainian dialects in Romania. The author examines the circumstances surrounding the diffusion of South Slavic language features into Romania and emphasizes the areas of the Banat, Maramureş, Suceava, and Dobrogea. Ukrainian dialects explored include Transcarpathian, Hucul, Bukovyna, and Steppe. The author investigates how length of contact time effects linguistic influence. Analytic and synthetic forms are discussed.
