- Abstract
The article describes spring wheat germplasm ND 735, a hard red spring wheat developed at North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota. ND 735 is released due to its high level of resistance to prevalent races of tan spot in the northern plains. It is also resistant to the dominant races of stem rust and leaf rust in the region. However, ND 735 has moderate resistance to Fusarium head blight (FHB) which has been a major problem since wheat was first introduced in the region. ND 735 should be of interest to many breeders in the U.S. and worldwide where tan spot, FHB and foliar diseases are a major disease problem of wheat.
