- Authors
Fossati-Bellani, Marco R.; Steele, Russell W.
- Abstract
The article discusses the case of a child with a pirate face. She presented to the emergency department (ED) with several hours of making a pirate face. She was treated with amoxicillin-clavulanate and doxycycline for 14 days and dexamethasone for six days with complete resolution of the Bell palsy and no sequelae. According to the article, LP should only be considered under the suspicion of meningeal manifestations and not isolated Bell palsy.
