- Abstract
The liberalization of trade and international investment can contribute to economic growth and prosperity. On the one hand, trade liberalization has increased the degree of competition in export markets, prompting firms to improve the quality of export products (i.e., the competition effect). Chen, Chen and Yao ([4]) analyze the impacts of trade competition and trade complementarity on trade development between China and countries along the BRI. Specifically, state-owned enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises significantly increase their OFDI, but privately-owned enterprises do not.
