- Abstract
Field experiments, conducted over several years showed that simazine and atrazine applied for the control of Alopecurus myosuroides had only low selectivity in winter wheat. The following results were obtained: 1. Rates of 0.375-0.5 kg/ha simazine and 0.25-0.375 kg/ha atrazine controlled the weed satisfactorily. 2. The tolerance of winter wheat depended on the growth stage, being greatest at the 3-4-leaf stage. 3. On dry soils the herbicides were ineffective. 4. Wheat damaged by frost was more susceptible.
