The article reports that a group of scientists, health experts, and children's health advocates has called for increased monitoring and assessment of neurotoxic chemicals after an increase in neurotoxin exposure in pregnant women and children. Topics cited include assessment of chemicals for long-term effects on brain function, the emergence of intellectual disabilities in U.S. children, and an increase in prevalence of autism spectrum disorders in Danish children born between 1980 and 1991.
