- Abstract
The article discusses research on the language diversity of all U.S. residency applicants for 2013 through the Electronic Residency Application Service and contrasts their language skills with the predominant languages of the U.S. population with Limited English proficiency (LEP). Topics covered include the method used to calculate odds of reporting non-English-language proficiency, the linguistical diversity of applicants, and the limitations of the study.
