- Abstract
The teratoma is a neoplasm originating from germ cells, being the second most common in the ovaries. The objective of this study is to report the occurrence of two cases of ovarian teratoma in dogs, as well as describe the main findings (tissue) tumors. Were submitted to the Department of Animal Pathology of UENF two ovarian tumors surgically excised for histopathological evaluation. One was a canine, female, SRD with a year old and the other a canine, female, SRD and no age given. The materials were fixed in buffered formalin 10% and were processed according to routine histological techniques and stained with hematoxylin-eosin (HE). Histopathology in HE in sections of ovarian tumors showed hair follicles, sebaceous glands, numerous blood vessels, bone, cartilage, fat, nerve and pancreatic. It was concluded that the tissue diversity present in the teratoma makes sui generis and easy diagnosis.
