- Title
A GREEN POWER CORRIDOR.
- Authors
Heaps, Tobby A. A.
- Abstract
The article reports on the Green Power Corridor project, an east-west power grid stretching from northern Manitoba's rich hydro power reservoirs across Ontario's far north. It cites the book "White Gold" in which author Karl Froschauer argues that if the provinces had chosen to integrate their power projects within a national electricity network, substantial advantages could have resulted. It mentions the attempt of Ontario and Manitoba governments to resurrect a deal that will allow Ontario to tap Manitoba's hydro power. It notes the plan of Newfoundland and Labrador to develop the Lower Churchill's hydro potential.
