- Authors
Cahill, Sean
- Abstract
This essay discusses the alarming number of HIV-positive Americans and the possible treatment to prolong their lives. It says that in a survey of Gay Men's Health Crisis Inc. (GMHC) and AIDS Community Research Initiative of America, 180 of GMHC 's HIV-positive clients were aging fifty and older. It also cites clinical trials for rectal microbicide, CAPRISA vaginal microbicides, and tenofovir gel, which could led to significant reduction in infection risk and sexual transmission.
