- Abstract
The article focuses on Confederate artilleryman Hiram Miller Bledsoe, Jr. and his artillery battery serving in the U.S. Civil War. The author describes Bledsoe's service during the 1846 War with Mexico, explains how he organized a volunteer company during the Civil War for the Southern Missouri State Guard which became part of the Confederate Army in 1862, and explores several battles they partook in including the battles of Chickamauga, Chattanooga, and Peachtree Creek.
