This article considers the legacy of former Pope Benedict XVI, born Joseph Ratzinger, with particular focus given to his thoughts on the crisis of love and the crisis of reason. The author discusses Benedict XVI's proclaiming a Year of Faith from 2012 to 2013 and his hopes for a catechesis throughout the Catholic world.
